A Life in Books

I read almost all books of Ryszard Kapuściński. This one impressed me the most. When Kapuscinski forgets that he is a journalist, he is Hemingway and Marquez in the same time. The Soccer War is the masterpiece of a wizard.

Honest up to the end in the self discovery of his morbid attraction for the cruelty of war. The morbid hiding in each of us: there are no innocents in a war.

Such a bibliophile beauty that even the harshest atheist would start to believe.
It is impossible to explain its bounding spell: you cannot explain the ineffable.

This is a book of sand: you open it each time on other page and you are lost there in an instant. No way of return, only fake detours.
