A member of The Eight, Arthur Bowen Davies was far from the Realism of other members of the group, like Henri or Sloan (or Luks). The works of Davies with their allegorical tones bring in mind rather Symbolists like Odilon Redon or Pierre Puvis de Chavannes. (or maybe the pagan sensuality of the poetry of Pierre Louÿs?)
