Degas at the Phillips Collection
Each time I am in the front of this Degas, I feel there is a window to that ballet school from the universe of the Parisian 19th century; or a mirror, telling me that I am wrong, the real universe is the one that's reflected.
If it's a window, they don't know that we are here, or they don't care. If it's a mirror, we don't know that they are here, so they shouldn't care.
