Ionesco's Rhinoceros on Stage at Tehran

A gentleman from an online forum posted today an information about Ionesco's Rhinoceros on stage in Tehran.


I looked on the Internet to find more. So I discovered the site of Payvand (Iran News, Directory and Bazaar), where a page is devoted to the event. I found there also images from the performance.

The premiere was last November at the City Theater Complex.



Eugène Ionesco is one of my favorite dramatists, says director Farhad Aiish. He did not keep the full text, as it seemed too long for him. So Farhad Aiish adapted the play, trying to remain faithful to the original.
