Lilly Rivlin: Juliano Mer-Khamis, an Israeli Arab, was a complicated and talented actor/director; he represented a face of Israel that is seldom conveyed to people on the outside, the complexity of the people, and the country; he made a documentary about Freedom Theater, the theatre that his mother created in Jenin, it is one of the best documentaries I have every seen; his murder is part of the senselessness taking place right now when many of us understand that time is running out for both Israelis and Palestinians to live in co-existence.
