Ayo means Joy in Yoruba. The girl is born in Germany from a Nigerian father and a Romanian Gipsy mother: she inherited a rich musical background. Ayo has garnered worldwide attention for her folksy and soulful acoustic guitar playing (DCist). Her artistic life flows between Paris and New York. This Friday she'll perform in DC at the 9:30 Club, on 815 V Street NW.
