Le Clézio Wins the Nobel Prize
Le Clézio (today's winner of Nobel Prize for Literature) has a fabulous biography: part of his childhood was spent in Nigeria, and he had long stays in Mexico and Central America. His literature witnesses a true citizen of the world, with eyes largely open towards large horizons (as well as exploring the insides of today's French culture).
His last book, Ballaciner, is a mix of autobiographic elements interleaved with his passion for movies (ballaciner = se ballader au cinéma).
I don't know how I could get the book; probably it's not yet translated in English, but I'd like to read it in original, to savor the French of Le Clézio. Many of his movie references are also mine: Satyajit Ray, for instance, or the South-Koreans, or Pasolini; and I share his interest for the beginnings of the cinema.
