The Book about Kurt Jobst - Courtesy of Sandy Lutrin
Sandy Lutrin, who knew Kurt Jobst very well, has the book about him, and was very kind to send me some fragments.
The book was published in 1979 by two of his sons, Dieter and Arno. Kurt had died in 1971, and the sons prepared this book to honor his memory.
Nobel laureate Nadine Gordimer, the great South-African writer, wrote an impressive appreciation.
It seems that the book was printed in a limited edition: only 500 copies. Sandy's is #333.
I would like to thank Sandy for this great gift, that I want to share with you. If you click on the images, you'll read the foreword, Nadine Gordimer's appreciation, Kurt Jobst's biographical note, along with an excerpt from a South-African newspaper with an article devoted to the great Goldsmith from Jo'burg. On the top of the article, along with some photos of works by Kurt Jobst, an image of him!
Thanks again, Sandy!
