Et in Arcadia ego

(dedicated to Jay)

Acadia National Park, in Maine. What you see in the picture is real. Maine is a fairy tale, with huge lakes surrounded by endless forests, with small picturesque towns, with wooden cabins hidden in the woods, with tinny islands where room is only for a small outlet selling lobster on a roll.

Et in Arcadia ego. I know the ambiguity of the phrase. Death comes everywhere, even in Arcadia, that idyllic space where you'd like to stop the moment for ever, it's so beautiful. In the same time, there is something stronger than even death: art, which is perennial memory. Art carries forever our beautiful moments: the moments we were in Arcadia.

Et in Acadia ego. I was there, in Maine, and those moments will be forever with me.
