Marcia Bujold - Scary Mammatus Clouds Over NY Harbor
Marcia Bujold used no filter here. Said she, it was the strangest color, and cast an orange light on everything; it was scary, but they say this kind of cloud usually happens after a storm, not before.
The image calls in my mind stills from movies of great Japanese masters. No need for filter, indeed: it was Marcia's eye that instantly knew to capture the moment; a long exercise at the school of Asian art that crafted such a refinement.
