Living the Utopia (Vivir la Utopía), a Spanish TV documentary made in 1997, written and directed by Juan A. Gamero, combining original photos and footage from the Spanish Civil War with interviews taken nowadays to old militants. It is the war narrative of the Anarcho-Syndicalists, which of course makes it extremely controversial, as each camp has a very different view on what happened then. Many of us think the Spanish Civil War as only the fight between Republicans and Nationalists. It has been much more complicated: different Republican organizations were claiming each one to represent the exclusive truth, while denouncing the others. All this being said, I strongly encourage you to watch Living the Utopia, for its incredible cinematic quality, pairing the great masters of documentary movies.
