Abram Room
Soviet film director belonging to the golden generation of the avant-garde of the twenties; he would work till the late 1960s, but his best known movie, the silent Bed and Sofa, was made in 1927; I will put it here before long; well, he was in the avant-garde, but he opposed the cinematic concepts of Eisenstein, and I will quote from his page on wikipedia (that quotes in turn from Texte zur Theorie des Films): A. Room, declared opponent of the concept of Sergey Eisenstein; for Room prior importance in film should have been done to the living human... , exactly that what Eisenstein declined.
