Russia wants bigger stake in West energy

Russia wants to get maximum advantage for its natural resources and to become a much bigger stakeholder in the world economy. After agreeing with China the huge contract for natural gas, now Russia is bargaining for greater latitude to invest in utilities, pipelines, natural gas facilities and other infrastructure in the US and Europe. This will be a major topic at the G8 summit next month in St. Petersburg.
