Hale Allen and his Industrial Landscapes

Hale Allen: The Red Hot End
Hale Allen - The Red Hot End

Says Hale Allen, I look for unique industrial components that divide space and capture light. I found his statement on the web site of Principle Gallery: they exhibit some of Allen's works.

The artist from Philadelphia follows a solid tradition in the American art: think at Edward Burtynsky, and of course at Charles Sheeler. Only each one takes his own way. The industrial universe described by Sheeler is strong and very sure of itself. The photographs of Burtynsky describe an ideal space of geometrical perfection. The industrial narrative of Allen is different: it's about a space that started its deconstruction. The God-Industry of Allen is becoming a Deus Otiosus.

Besides painting, Hale Allen is passionated by rock: check out his blog on MySpace.
