Charles-Emile Jacque
Charles-Emile Jacque was an animal painter belonging to the Barbizon School. If you look at his works you'll discover a French countryside perhaps idealized even for the 19th century. Sunny sceneries with sheep, cows, pigs, horses, hens: the sheep leave in the morning the farmyard and come back by the sunset, shepherds and shepherdesses look pretty content and you follow the serene flow of life from his works with enjoyment, also with nostalgia, aware that it's no more.
