Naive Art from Brooklyn, NY: Gustave Klumpp - Salute to a Nude


Gustave Klumpp started to paint at the end of his life. Two years after his retirement he visited the Red Hook Center to seek occupations to fill his days. They suggested him to try his hand at painting. And that's what he did afterwards: he painted nudes after nudes after nudes.

Here is another painting from him: Wedding Dream in a Nudist Colony, made in 1971. Gustave Klumpp died in 1974, aged 72: he was bachelor.
