There Was Once An Inn On The Gallows

There was once an inn on the Gallows: 8137 Lee Highway, the corner with Gallows Road. The innkeeper should have come somewhere from the South, from Texas or Arizona, or even further, from Mexico. Or, who knows, he was an European, from some small German country, though having a Spanish twist. Look at the façade, and look at the balcony.

Who knows? Anyway, that was a long time ago, very long time...

People were gathering in the inn, to drink wine or beer and to listen to stories. Some were remaining over night: there were some room upstairs for lodging.

The balcony should have known days when a guitar was playing kind'o flamenco, and under the balcony there was a storage for bacon, and for flour, and some space for bottles of wine, to stay at cool.

It changed landlords. The innkeeper left long time ago, nobody remembers whether he had come from Texas, or Arizona, or Mexico, or from Spain, or from some small German country.

Last time it was here a body shop. It's out of business.

I was there last Saturday, and I am afraid the building will disappear. It would be very sad!

I went around it and I took as many photos as I could. I have put them in this portfolio:

............................................
And I came again there, after a couple of weeks: the building is no more!
