Cosmonaut Konstantin Feoktistov Passed Away

In the 50's, he was dreaming at human expeditions to Mars, and he worked on the design of a ion-powered spacecraft. Since 1955, he worked within the team that designed the first Soviet cosmic ships. Later he would become the head of the design bureau that devised the Saliut and Mir space stations.

Meanwhile, in 1964, the space engineer Konstantin Feoktistov and the physician Boris Yegorov were the first civilians in Cosmos.

There is a Feoktistov crater on the lunar far side, also an 8450 Yegorov asteroid.
