2011: Third Day Third Tango

как эти черные глаза! (Ah, those dark eyes), a tango from 1930. It was composed by Oskar Strok and it is played on a seven-string guitar by Krzysztof Piotrowicz.

Just a few words about the guitar. It has, as I said, seven strings, instead of the usual six and it is tuned D,B,G,d,b,g,d' Such an instrument is known as the Russian guitar (they call it in Russia семиструнная гитара or, shortly, семиструнка). It is also known as the Gypsy guitar.
