Oyster Stout

What brands of beer to find in Bucharest? You can find this one, for instance: Marston's Oyster Stout. It's expensive, but it pays the price.

It's coming from England (Marston's is located in one of world's brewing meccas, Burton-on-Trent), and its beginnings are covered by legend (they say that by Dickens times stout and oysters were the poor man's meal).

Like with any other beer, there are two secrets: the quality of water and the discipline in keeping to the brewing recipe. Well, the water of Trent River is perfectly suited for brewing. And as I found on a blog dedicated to good beer, something about the local waters made the beer very accepting of hops and extra malting, allowing for the production of beer that could be shipped across vast distances without spoiling.
