Two universes mirroring each other: the mundane with all the dynamic of people on Vokzalanaja Street, each personage with her or his own individuality, all of them participants in the never ending symphony of daily life; and the eternal, served and preserved day-to-day by the venerated monastery, whose history goes up to the beginnings of the fourteenth century. Two universes that don't ignore each other: the mundane being perfectly aware of the sacrality of the eternal; and the eternal being perfectly aware of its duties toward the mundane: to give guidance, to comfort, to  offer the ultimate protection.

Trinity Lavra of Saint Sergius in Sergyev Posad (part of the so called Golden Ring surrounding Moscow) has been throughout all its history one of the most important centers of Orthodox Christianity here in this part of the world.

(Konstantin Yuon)
