Raymond Carver
Each short story written by Raymond Carver is life-in-progress. No beginning, no climax, no end, just several moments taken from a continuum lived in mediocrity and accepted with dull resignation. Now and then some memorable phrase, thrown there just to mock yourself. There is a thick desperation in the air, hidden below chatter and drinking. Minimalism at its best.
